Slow It Down With These Relaxing Essential Oils
It’s hard to relax in December, which is why we’re going to provide you with a quick guide to some of our most relaxing essential oils and how to use them. Read on to see how you can slow it down this season with these relaxing essential oils.
Many people nowadays are turning towards more natural ways to unwind at the end of the day, and that way is aromatherapy. Aromatherapy has been around for centuries, dating as far back as 18,000 B.C.E. Egyptians, for instance, were noted as one of the first cultures to implement essential oils in ointments and cosmetics. People still practice aromatherapy to this day, and do so with the use of essential oils. There are many different essential oils in today's times, and are pretty much readily available anywhere.
A few of the best essentials we recommend for relaxation include lavender, eucalyptus, chamomile, bergamot, cedarwood, frankincense, geranium, jasmine, patchouli, rose, sandalwood and ylang ylang. One way to use them is to add a few drops to a nice, relaxing bubble bath, which relieve tension throughout your body. Another way is to add a blend of these essential oils to an oil warmer and disperse it throughout a room of your choice. You can even incorporate them into your everyday personal care routine by adding a few drops in a natural body oil (such as coconut, almond, avocado, or grape seed oil) and using it as a massage oil to help ease and relax sore muscles after a long stressful day.
We also want to give an honorary mention to peppermint. Although it is not typically an essential oils that relaxes like the others, it can work wonders on sore, aching muscles and joints, and can even ease a head or migraine when massaged onto one's temples.
Essential oils are a great alternative for stress management and to help promote relaxation. If you haven't tried it before, you really should...You won't regret it.
