Visa and Mastercard each now support a global e-commerce solution that enables you as a cardholder to authenticate yourself to your issuer through the use of a unique personal code. Visa's program is known as Verified By Visa. Mastercard's program is known as SecureCode.

If you have a Visa or MasterCard from an Issuer participating in these programs you will be presented an additional window during your payment process hosted by your Card Issuer.
If you have already established a password for your particular card, you will be prompted to simply enter that password to authenticate yourself before the transaction is submitted for authorization. If you have not yet established your password, you will be prompted through simple steps to do so.

What is this code?. This is a 3 or 4 digit security verification number printed on your credit card. This code is not part of the magnetic band, hence it doesn't show in traditional printed receipts.

Where is this verification code?

On Visa, Mastercard & Discover cards is a 3 digits number located in the signature band on the back of the card.
