Virginia founded, developed and built Real Purity® as she realized a dream and a life long mission. Her dreams and mission were to help others find a better life path to health and wellness through education and higher life choices.

Virginia worked to build Real Purity® into a company that stands for quality and integrity. Real Purity® has been, and continues to be, a company dedicated to helping others while considering and caring for the environment, and putting people before profit.

Virginia worked in the field of nursing. She trained in and graduated from The Cadet Nursing Corps. She worked as Head of Nurses at an Osteopathic Hospital. Virginia's work as a nurse and her experience in caring for patients, and the relationships and experiences shared with those patients and their families, helped to lay the groundwork for the J-Rich Clinic and Real Purity® Products.

After becoming a licensed cosmetologist and instructor, she furthered her education in the field of cosmetology, earning an associate degree in cosmetology from a state college. She went on to become a licensed esthetician and tricologist; she served as the President of the National Association of Estheticians for one year.

Virginia opened the J-Rich Clinic in 1971 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She worked with many clients to improve their health and appearance and was successful in helping a number of problem skin and scalp cases referred to her by the University of Michigan Hospital , as well as many others, not only with skin and scalp problems, but with many other types of health problems as well. The J-Rich Clinic is still in operation today.

Virginia had, from an early age growing up on a farm, an appreciation for things of nature, including nutrition. She became a Certified Nutritional Consultant (CNC) and Aromatherapist. The J-Rich Clinic became well known for its work, and people from other states and countries came there for help, health, and education. Various types of detoxification programs were used at the clinic, and many fasts and cleansings were accomplished under Virginia's watchful and tremendously caring supervision.

In addition to the cosmetology, tricology and esthetic services offered, there were a number of what would later be called “alternative medicine” disciplines and protocols. These included Vitamins and Minerals, Iridology as taught by Dr. Bernard Jensen using the iriscope and the eye microscope, exercise, aromatherapy, accupressure, massage therapy, ear candling, reflexology, juicing and juice fasting, the use of raw fruits and vegetables in diet, nutrition especially biochemical nutrition based on the individual, and the use of the sauna for health and detoxification.

The services and classes that were offered and taught at the clinic seemed to dovetail for Virginia as she became renowned for her work in the field of esthetics. Estheticians or aestheticians are professionals that work to clean and beautify the skin. A natural esthetician uses only natural methods and natural substances to accomplish this work.

Virginia, while working with people to improve their skin, overall appearance and health, became more acutely aware of something she had sensed for some time, and as an idea whose time has come, it became more and more apparent. The chemicals and synthetic substances that people were not only exposed to, but even put into and unto their bodies, were contributing factors to unwellness and disease. Hence a new idea was born “Real Purity®”.

At the time Virginia was a consultant to and involved in laboratory work with a large and very well known company. That company today is still a major player in the Beauty Business, including cosmetics and personal care products.

The realization that there had to be a better way than all the chemicals, petrochemicals, toxic and synthetic ingredients being used, launched Virginia on a path that would become a real calling and a large part of her life's work. Little did she know at the time all the resistance she would meet or that the products she would formulate and develop would lead her to become known as one of the true “pioneers” in this field.

Fortunately for Virginia, her extensive background in chemistry, biochemistry and her love of herbs would serve her well in her new endeavor. Virginia worked closely with her daughter-in-law, Karen Prain Easterling, a licensed cosmetologist whom she had trained personally. After much thought they came up with the name “Real Purity®” and began a journey to develop and manufacture pure products that would embody the name “Real Purity®”.

A strong commitment was made in the development of Real Purity, to using plants, minerals and natural safe earth ingredients in the formulations, instead of the synthetic ingredients and petrochemicals so widely used in products not only at that time, but that are still in use today. After much thought, study, labor, trial and error, a much purer, much more natural and environmentally friendly line of products was born-Real Purity®. No one could have been more pleased to bring Real Purity® to the people than Virginia.

Some unfailing principles that became the theme that ran throughout Virginia's formulations and in the product development were: “first, do no harm,” that included not only humans but animals as well. No Animal Testing Of Any Kind. Ever. Another principle was the care and responsible stewardship of our planet and environment. In her work and teaching she emphasized that not only was it important to consider the things we put into, around and unto our bodies, but what we put down our drains and into our water, as that would ultimately effect our relationship with Mother Earth.

Virginia taught her female clients and those that attended her classes, the proper removal of make-up prior to showering or bathing and that make-up removal should be done bent over a wash basin using proper cleansing and rinsing techniques. She had sensed for sometime prior to the start of Real Purity®, that some of the commercial, synthetic, chemically based make-up as well as other personal care products, were contributors to disease and unwellness. She had come to believe that when women showered without removing make-up before hand, that in the process of showering, the make-up would travel down the body, across the neck and breast area, and that it was a very likely contributor to breast cancer, and possibly some other cancers.

Now, over twenty years later, it is common knowledge that synthetic substances and petrochemicals, as well as natural substances and phytochemicals can be delivered and driven into the body via the skin. This is especially true in areas where blushing may occur, the skin being somewhat thinner in these areas, especially the throat and neck, upper chest, inner thighs etc.. This was and is of great importance to women but also to the environment and our planet.

The products that Real Purity® offers come from years of working closely with people and nature. The empirical knowledge gained from many years of working with many different people at the clinic and used in the Real Purity® formulations is now being seen in other health issues and topics, as the scientific validation of herbs, vitamins, enzymes and minerals becomes more common and mainstream.
