We developed the first totally natural mascara and saw many women that had chronic eyelid infections (blepharitis) clear up practically overnight. Blepharitis is the inflammation of the edges of the eyelid margins, which over a period of time can lead to more serious problems including small ulcerated pockets on the lid margin. Real Purity® was not only the very first company to manufacture lipstick that did not contain toxic FD&C colors, but that did not contain isopropyl myristate as well. This was long, long before any one had suggested that isopropyl alcohol and isopropyl myristate were contributors to the metastatic process in cancer.

The commitment to using plants, natural minerals and safe earth ingredients in our formulas rather than synthetic ingredients and petrochemicals that are much cheaper and easier to work with, is the same commitment that Virginia made years ago and that we continue to live by to this day.
